Edits To Go

Sometimes, it's not a good idea to wait until the shoot has finished before you start the edit. Pickups are easier to get, and the whole job runs smoother if a rough assemble can be done on site.

Or maybe, you don't want to go somewhere to edit - it would make life easier if the edit came to you. This is when my mobile solution is just what you need.

Avid or Final Cut Pro - the choice is yours

I can tailor an on-site edit to your needs; it could be the full shebang - Mac Pro, cinema display, PPMs, sound mixer, digibeta or better... or just the MacBook Pro laptop, DVCAM/HDV machine and storage, for a down and dirty quick fix.

And you can choose whether you need an Avid or Final Cut Pro system - they both work with either system.

Backup that doesn't get your back up

Both systems are fully backed by AppleCare, for peace of mind, and TechToolPro diagnostics to help solve any naughtiness. Media is captured onto SATA RAIDed drives, mirrored in case of failure, and a further project backup on a separate Firewire drive.

Occasionally, computer equipment fails (yes, even Macs) but I'll try to minimise downtime by building in contingency plans wherever possible. So even if I bring the Mac Pro system, I'll have the laptop with me, just in case. And if I'm just using the laptop? There'll be a full system backup on a separate drive in the car.
